At the heart of our Ministry is the desire to bring lost souls to Jesus Christ, and to rescue the downtrodden and weary for the Kingdom of God.

WHAT WE BELIEVE IN
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.​

We believe that God is eternally existent in three separate persons comprised of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
All are One representing the Holy Trinity.

We believe JESUS CHRIST is the Son of God. ( John 3:16 , Mathew 1:18-20 )
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Holy Trinity.

Founders
Pst. Pieter Nel & Pst. Magda Nel
Pastor Pieter Nel and Pastor Magda Nel worked in the secular world for many years before going into full time ministry ten years ago. They sowed everything they had into the dream God had given them for Word and Power Ministries and chose to “see the invisible and believe for the impossible” (quote by Oral Roberts).

They have been married for 46 years and have two sons, Ruben and Elwin. They had always felt God's calling on their hearts and determined that circumstances would not stand in the way of the destiny God had promised them.
​
Word & Power Ministries was established in 2004 and started off as a home cell consisting of about 15 people.
​
Within the first 6 months, the church bought their first property. Six months later they were able to buy a second property which housed the church offices. Two years later both these properties were sold for double their purchase price and the church was able to purchase the land the church building is now built on.
​
A church has been built on 1 hectare of land in Montana, a suburb of Pretoria in South Africa, and stands as a testament of faith to the commitment and perseverance of its members.
Senior Pastors Ruben Nel & Lauda Nel
Pastor Ruben Nel and his wife Lauda Nel are serving Pastors and leaders of Word and Power Ministries. Since the founding of Word & power Ministries Pastor Ruben has been directly involved in ministry and in the worship team of the church. Through his teachings he encourages Christians to live up to their full God-given potential, walk in the Gifts of the Spirit and to make disciples of all nations.

Pastor Ruben has served as a Co-Pastor of Word & Power Ministries since 2014. His passion for the Word of God and living a spirit-filled life in Christ led him to preach the gospel. Pastor Ruben is also the author of the ground-breaking book "You Can Prophesy" which has brought knowledge, clarity, revelation and the understanding of the gift of prophecy to it's readers. His wife Lauda is an active leader of Word & Power Ministries and frequently presents Women's Conferences that seeks to empower women of all walks of life through the everlasting Word of God.

They've been married for 10 years, have three children, Ayo, Hedia and Ethan.

As a family and leaders of Word & Power Ministries they have a firm believe in the power of God's word and stands testimony to the gifts of the Spirit.
